Hospice Cup Regatta

Anuual Sailing Regatta Raises Awareness and Funds for Hospice

Community Hospices salutes hospice professionals and volunteers worldwide and is proud to join with other members of the hospice community and those who provide important support through fundraising events like Hospice Cup XXIII.

Last year nearly half a million dollars was raised by Hospice Cup sponsors.  Supporting Hospice Cup means that there will continue to be no out-of-pocket expenses for any patient or family seeking hospice services.  This event is a unique way to raise public awareness of your company or business while supporting Community Hospices through corporate or individual sponsorship.

Community Hospices is a relative newcomer to the area’s hospice family, but we are anything but new to the world of hospice care. We began one of the nation’s first hospices in 1978 as Hospice of Washington, and in late 2001, expanded our hospice services when we acquired ongoing hospice operations.

At the heart of Community Hospices’ vision for the future is the need to educate people about the value of hospice, to lead improvements in hospice care, and to raise funds that can provide hospice to those without the means to pay.

Watch for additional information about the 24th annual Hospice Cup to be held in Annapolis, in September, 2005.

Entertaining People: A Gala Event to Benefit Hospice

Entertaining People: A Beloved Event Returns

Special thanks to Chair Sharon Collins Casey, the gala committee, individuals and sponsors who made the elegant, black tie gala event a huge success.   Over 300 guests enjoyed the back to back baby grand pianos and a cabaret performance by Michael Carney and Camilla Cloney. The event was held on November 12 at the Four Seasons Hotel.

All proceeds raised will benefit the programs and services provided by The Washington Home and Community Hospices.

Watch for the annual Entertaining People event to be held in the fall, 2005. Individual and corporate sponsorships will be available.  Please call the Development office at 202-895-0160 for more information.
